Professional background
Dr Detanac is a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He completed his undergraduate degree in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology at Curtin University, graduating with Distinction and earning a place on the Vice Chancellor's List. He subsequently completed his medical training (MBBS) at the University of Western Australia (UWA).
Dr Detanac is currently providing assessment and treatment to patients aged 18 or above with a special interest in the following areas of psychiatry: depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders (including generalised, social and panic disorders), obsessive and compulsive disorder.
Dr Detanac also has a strong interest in research and is a published author in the Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry (2024).
Please note he does not have availability for the following: Assessment or treatment of Autism or intellectual disability, personality disorders, schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders, substance use disorders.
He does not see patients for workers compensation, insurance or medicolegal reports.
