Professional background
Dr Stephen Ford is a Consultant Psychiatrist who strives to provide individualised and compassionate care to all patients. He works collaboratively with other health professionals to provide multidisciplinary care.
A Western Australian trained Psychiatrist, Stephen holds subspecialty training in the care of older adults.
Although his practice is primarily outpatient-based, he also facilitates patient admissions to the Marian Centre.
Stephen’s areas of interest and expertise are: anxiety disorders; mood disorders: depression and bipolar disorder; treatment resistant illness; psychopharmacology; neuropsychiatry including diagnosis of dementia and management of associated behaviours; and the psychiatric complications of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.
He does not specialise in Medicolegal matters.
Stephen has worked extensively across the public sector in Western Australia. He has been in private practice since 2013, caring for adults and older adults between the ages of 18 and 108.
He is a member of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
